AD-diction

Dior grabbed our attention with feeding in to our perfect girlish dream of a vacation. Inspired by a 50s Bardot's movie, The new Dior Addict has just all the right elements.
Flirty song, red-hot mini skirt, and the sun. St. Tropez has never been this hot.
It's a departure from the whimsically girlish Miss Dior Cherie, with the added come-hither charm that's a bit on the naughty side. Don't you just love the Brigitte Bardot-esqueness of the commercial? Bold lips and  long legs. Oh, 'And Dior Created a Woman' indeed.

Prada's "Fever"

Wow there truly is some wonderful shift in fashion world. Celebrating plus size, for one. Such a fab idea for Prada hiring Victoria's Secret models for its show and Louis Vuitton too. Also the comebacks of some Too-old-for-catwalk models, some of them are even in their -gasp!- 40s, such as Kristen McMenamy and Stella Tenant. Even the 47 year old Elle Macpherson walked for Louis Vuitton.

Speaking of movement, Prada's finally come up with a marvelous creation for their Fall Winter campaign. Guess what? Iconic model Angela Lindvall sang sultrily in a video to match the prints ads! If you ask me, it sure brings the engaging ads to life! Moreover, the song "Fever" is my absolute favorite, it got the 60-ish vibe that makes me wanna sway and swing! I fell in love with it since I first heard it on Factory Girl (you know, when the Andy Warhol guy saw Sienna Miller dancing in the apartment).

"...never know how much I love you..." indeed!

(Download Fever - The McCoys)

And that's not all. Let's not forget the baby line, MIU MIU. One of my fave model, Abbey Lee Kershaw are frolicking and making mischief with dolled up Siri Tollerod and two other models in the video ad.

Yep, this is a great progress indeed! I truly await more revolution in this much beloved fashion industry!

More later!

Delicious Fall Campaign Ads : Keep 'em Coming

I know, I know, haven't posted anything about the fall/winter collection (tho Celine's once again emerged on top!).

But never fear, perusing the ad campaigns I would do!
Hmmm, frankly those which usually deliver fantabulous ones (Alberta Feretti, Louis Vuitton, Burberry,or even Chanel) don't come up to scratch this season.
Thank God for the unexpected Emporio Armani and Kenzo!

Starring Karmen Pedaru, the Emporio Armani campaign is delivered with abundance of fierceness and touched with an air of mystery. We're left transfixed and slightly intrigued as to what Karmen Pedaru is trying to escape from (the fog, the spies?? something else??).

Meanwhile Lily Donaldson and Sasha Pivovarova perched precariously on a cliff (or a rock? a giant one? doesn't matter, as it's so frigging fierce!!) for Kenzo Fall Ads, shot by Mario Sorrenti. Truly they just look too fabulous!

Actually the ad reminds me of one editorial of Lily Donaldson, shot by none other of the Mighty Meisel, with her on heels atop another cliff.

My other favorite would be the Jean Paul Gaultier, with plus size model Crystal Renn. The ad is colourful and Crystal look absolutely ravishing. Although... she doesn't actually look like she weighed a lot to me. Maybe she's getting thinner. Doesn't matter. Her face, her body, they're flawlessly gorgeous!! It's good that the fashion industry really celebrated plus size body type this year (look at LV runway show, and Lara Stone who ranked 1 at models.com).

So you've seen 'em all, now tell me which one's your fave!!

Beauty and The Beast by Annie Leibovitz

So I was browsing Meg Cabot's blog when I found these fairy-tale fashion editorial, by my fave photographer nonetheless!!!! It's from American Vogue circa 2005, with Drew Barrymore looking princess-like and gorgeous in priceless couture. Seriously. How like Annie Leibovitz to make a dream comes true! God, I'm suck a sucker for story telling-editorial!

so this is the part where she supposedly danced with teacup and pot
and the candlestick; I just love that she had real musicians this time.

awww, the roses!!!!

omigod, I just adore this dress!

okay, this photo (and my fave one of all!!!) looks familiar...

OMG! Of course! It's the Lady Dior Fall 09 campaign!
and guess what?
It's shot by Annie Leibovitz too!
oooh, I love just how vivid the red is.
All hail Annie Leibovitz!!

Agyness Deyn's Comeback!!!!!!

OH, THANK YOU GOD!!!!

when first I heard the news that she decided to quit modeling, I was pretty devastated.
After a very long long hiatus, finally she scratch that foolish thought off her head!
She graced us with her gorgeous presence in Harper's Bazaar's September edition, doing this funny Michael Jackson-y editorial (photographed by Terry Richardson). Though it's not particularly amazing or anything, I'll still say "All hail Agyness!"

Agyness just did a campaign for Anna Sui cosmetics and though it's only released in Asia, well that's a start!

Oh, and now what can be more wonderful than having two of my most fave models, male and female, in one frame? Agyness and Cole Mohr were photographed for Me + The City FW 09 ad campaign. Heck, I don't know what the heck is Me + The City, what sort of product it is, and yea the ad is nothing to write home about; but there's Agyness and Smoking-Hot Cole, and I'm lovin them baby!

Is this what ANTM's all about? Raquel does IT for REAL!

Shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinodh Matadin, the new Jean Paul Gaultier Fall ad screams versatility. Yep that's the name of the game these days, which Raquel seems to bring into anything she does. No wonder she stays on top (#1 in models.com) for so long. She works it, baby!
Though the concept is a bit of a 'steal' case, Raquel still delivers each time.
Hmm, it totally reminds me of the 'girl-boy' photoshoot in ANTM cycle 8.
Is this what Tyratrains them for? Well, too bad they won't be able to practice that, though some of them did it fairly, ehm, great, considering the silly photo shoots tyra the I-was-almost-a-supermodel came up with, like using meat as clothes. Excuse me, but gross. also, eww.
But these are pretty decent, in ANTM way. Coz you know you can never mix ANTM with real high fashion. Yeah. Those two don't mix.

Alberta Ferretti : Mind-Blowing Breeze by the Great Meisel

Yep. You can almost feel the wind, baby!
You see it here.
The new Alberta Ferretti campaign, shot by no other than Steven Meisel.
Tres chic. Tres amazing.
The ad pictured the models lounging in the library in ultra-chic creation of AF with pages of books blown by. The breeze pattern gives off unique visual all around.
Totally mind-blowing.
The sad thing is, it's simply not original, nothing new.
Dolce and Gabbana has done it, only with different models.
But still, Steven Meisel's done an insanely great job!

Oh, that leather pencil skirt, the boots... I havta say I'm lovin these looks!
