Alexander The Great : Tribute to McQueen
God, I find it a little ironic that my last post (about two months ago, haha I'm such a busy bee lately) was about a model suicide, and now my first post ever after my hiatus would be abourt another suicide. Designer suicide. My fave designer suicide, to be exact.
I know, i know, it's a little bit too late.
But I just havta write about McQueen at some point, coz he's like the best ever (aside from Uncle Marc, of course).
UGh, what to say, what to say..
Uya told me first about a day after he died. He texted me, and I was like "okay, if this is a joke, then it's not funny, coz he knows i just adorrrreeee mcQueen". then I saw at the net that it's true, and i just struck dumb for a while.
My first thought : "oh no! No more out-of-this-world fantastic couture for us anymore!"
See : Lady Gaga in Bad Romance. Yeah, but no bad romance there for her and McQueen's creation. That'll surely be noted as one of an eye-opener in fashion history.
Then I remember how the day before i was just saying how wonderful his Metamorphosis Dress (it's plastered all over the magazies with Anna Paquin wearing it to some award.)
And, FYI, his dresses inspired my first post ever (remember, prom fever?? Yep, so high school).
The Great Alexander seemed such a befitting title for the enfant terrible of fashion who's redefined a whole new world with his inspired, everlasting, out-of-this world creations, from sky-scrapper heels to unbelievably beautiful couture dresses, from skull adorned scarf to chic union jack clutch. The guy created the phrase chichenstein.
Gosh, what else can i say, except that it was a really really awful tragedy to have our one of the most talented, wonderful, fantastic designer ripped away from fashion world at such a productive time. Gosh.
